Continuing the Trend!

            Continuing the Trend....
Well, 2010 is coming to an end soon. In 1 and a half days for me to be exact.

I am actually happy to say that I have ZERO New Years resolutions. Everything that I could possibly want to make a resolution for, is already in motion, and being executed to the fullest of my ability.

                 Adversity
I want to talk about adversity for a moment. I thought of something today as my running partner and I were on the last half of our 3 mile run, and were running into a VERY strong headwind, and were pretty much lost in a cloud of dust the whole way back. I thought to myself, "What if the next 16 weeks of training, we have to run the last half of our runs INTO this some 10 Knots of wind?" That will really suck. Then I thought to myself, "Well what if I train for 16 weeks running INTO the wind and dust, and on race day, I don't have to?" I will be significantly ahead of the game is what... And if I DO have to run into the wind? So what, I have been doing it for the past 16 weeks!
In terms of day to day living, adversity prepares us to deal with all of the stuff that IS going to happen in life, at some point or another. So better to have to deal with some BS every now and then, and be efficient at dealing with it, rather than be a deer in the headlights when something is sprung on you...
With that in mind, next time you have to deal with a shitty situation, try to look at it as "practice"... After all, without the shitty situations we all have to deal with, we wouldn't appreciate times of fortune NEARLY as much.

FINISH

                                Finish....
This, my second blog of ever is going to be an attempt at somewhat of a motivational blog. We shall see how that plays out when it's all said and done.

12 weeks ago, I embarked on a journey to attempt to better myself mentally and physically. THAT small journey is over, and although my mentality and physique have improved on mostly all levels possible, this is a road that doesn't end after 12 weeks, and i'm actually happy of that fact. It's a great thing to know that the improvements you can instill on your own life are limitless, and proving to yourself and to others that you have the capacity to POWER through limits that you THOUGHT were there, well that's a pretty nice gem too.

This brings me to the title of this Blog, FINISH... Something I have kind of adopted as a mentality, as a whole, and it seems to be working out great. It has caused me to think about what things NEED to be taken care of, and things that need not be worried about so diligently. You would be surprised with the fact that once you FINISH a task, that is mentally and physically taxing, the easier it becomes to finish others. Then before you know it, finishing has become a new trend in your life, in the place where STARTING used to be.

                                              Boston Marathon

Well, due to some convincing from someone very close and special to me, I have decided to run the "Boston Marathon". Obviously I wont be doing it in Boston due to the fact that I am deployed at the moment, but it will be held here in Afghanistan, in conjunction with said marathon in Boston, and this will be taking place in April of 2011. The thought of running a marathon has never even crossed my mind, BUT, due to my new outlook, I figure, why not? I am in the best shape of my life, I already run about 20 miles a week, and what person that loves fitness in general WOULDN'T like to say, "Yea, I ran the Boston Marathon." Training for starts tomorrow for me, and thanks to now being a FINISHER, I will only have to change up my training a bit, and adapt. I'm already ahead of the game!

Pop my Bloggin cherry prease....

First blog in the history of blogs from ME!

Well, the page isn't completely setup, but that will all come in due time.

Today has been mostly a run of the mill day, as standard as things can get here in a 19th world country anyways...

Lately has been a pretty confusing time, would be a confusing time even if I WASN'T across the ocean and 12 hours AHEAD of all my friends and family. BUT, sometimes things that may seem like problems are only quizzes in life, challenges thrown at you, possibly to make you think your way out of a rut, or for you to see who is really there to help you out. So with that point of focus in mind, I think my train is locked on track fairly well. I have a select few people to thank for that, and they know who they are... Some are here with me, some are at home, and some of them don't even know they're helping me stay focused, but a lot runs through this mind of mine during the day, and friends & family are always at the top of that list.

                    R&R
ONLY 38 more days until I am on my way back to the motherland, and OH, how I CANNOT wait! I am so lucky to be able to go home and be at my BrotherFromAnotherMother Tyler, and Kylie's wedding. Well, I should say they are lucky that I get to be there too, if not they would probably never hear the end of it!

Those 2 weeks are probably going to FLY by being at home and having fun, but, I am anticipating being home more than I have anticipated ANYTHING in my life before, even if it is ONLY for 2 weeks... Like always, the time will pass and in the distant future, the things in your past will only be memories, so the more you make of every situation, the more good memories you will have in the future... Positive attitudes yield positive results!
